A. Definition of Umrah

Umrah in Arabic means visiting. There are also those who say the meaning is deliberate.

As for Umrah in terms of syar'i according to Imam Ibn Hajar Al-Haitami (d. 974 H) in the book Tuhfatul Muhtaj Fii Syarhi Al-Minhaj are:

Umrah according to syar'i terms is deliberately (visiting) the Kaaba to carry out worship rituals (thawaf and sa'i).

B. The arguments about Umrah

In fact, there are many arguments related to Umrah.

In the Al-Quran Al-Karim, there are verses that form the basis for the umrah worship, for example the following verses:

In fact Shafaa and Marwa are some of the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs pilgrimage to the House of Allah or performs umrah, there is no sin for him to perform sa'i between the two. (QS. Al-Baqarah: 158)
